The RMVB format is mostly known for its excellent video quality and reduced file size, result of the use of a variable bit rate. The problem is that, as RMVB is a proprietary format, it is not supported by most media players, portable devices, or Home DVD players. So to make RMVB files playable on any of these we need to convert them. RMVB Converter is a freeware application that efficiently accomplishes this function, converting RealMedia files (RMVB and RM) into other more widely used video formats.
Integrating all necessary codecs, this program outputs twelve video file types, among them AVI, MP4, DviX, Xvid, 3GP, and FVL. It can also extract audio from RMVB videos to MP3. As there aren’t any settings to adjust, the program is extremely easy to handle. In fact, there are only three things to do: select the source RMVB video, define a destination folder, and then choose the output format. The conversion process is relatively fast (of course it will depend on the size of the video), and the results obtained are quite satisfactory.
